Om Sri Hari,

My obeisance to the Divine in you!

Thank you for a charming article. I see you are using the information from The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali (mostly online information). To reach, the state of pure bliss consciousness one requires to follow Yama (5 rules), Niyama (5 rules), Asana (8 steps), Pranayama, and Pratyahara. Once you achieve that, you can try meditation. Till then, meditation is not recommended as the outcome is not desirable.

In concentration (form, formless, sound, or breath) meditation- Dhyana goes hand in hand with Dharana and the samadhi is the outcome of intense practice.

There are many other types of meditation, where you don't need Dharana for example contemplative, Vipassana or mindfulness meditation, and so on.

Also, in Samadhi there are three stages.

You can certainly sleep where you meditate, actually, it is always recommended that you sleep where you meditate. Especially when you are taking a Sankalpa for Sadhana. It is always a good idea to meditate as soon as you get up in the morning in bed and also at night when you are ready to sleep. It is in the scriptures of ancient Vedic literature. Also, if you get a chance, please study charter 6 Shrimad Bhagwat Gita, it is fully dedicated to Meditation only.

If you have any further questions regarding meditation or Kundalini, feel free to contact me. I would be honored to help you in my capacity.

Sending love, peace, and respect. 🙏💓
